Organizing Young People with Class Privilege for a More Just and Equitable World

With chapters in Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, and Ottawa, our network includes over 200 people, mostly youth, across what is colonially called Canada who participate in learning opportunities, show up for social justice movements, and engage in campaigns.
RESOURCE MOVEMENT
Canada’s economy is structured in a way that deepens inequality, concentrating wealth and power in the hands of a few - and pushing our society towards social and ecological collapse. To build a society where everyone is secure and can thrive, we need social movements that build people power for transformative change.
These movements are severely under-powered and under-resourced, partially because most socially-conscious people with wealth or power focus their support on depoliticized social change efforts (charities, social entrepreneurship, etc).
Resource Movement is a membership community that builds democratic power and supports our members to become transformative leaders. We are committed to showing up as agents of change for racial and economic justice, and shifting cultural myths that legitimize and glorify wealth hoarding.
We work to help fill the support gap for social movements in Canada, by investing in deep organizing of our constituency - moving beyond transactional asks, and bringing our members into movements.
We prioritize youth leadership, as well as intergenerational solidarity, because we believe in the power of young people to lead radical shifts in our own life paths - as a part of radically shifting society as a whole.
